About Me

Empty Arms, Broken Heart
Pennsylvania, United States
This blog used to be about the struggles my husband (Flaco) and I had with infertility. But, so much has changed since I started this blog! Flaco left after we received our first foster-to-adopt placement and during the fall-out that followed, the county took the baby. I mourned the dual loss of my marriage and the first baby who captured my heart. I picked up the pieces and soldiered on. After fostering a few kids as a single, working woman, I decided I didn't want to give up my dream of becoming a mother. So, I pursued adoption alone and I am now a single adoptive mom! I am fortunate enough to have adopted a wonderful, amazing teenage boy, Primero. He is a true blessing to my infertility-ravaged heart. After almost 4 years, the adoption for the two little ones was finalized, making me a mom of three. My journey to motherhood has been fraught with difficulties and a constant readjustment of expectations, but I'm glad to be where I am now and anxious to see where the future leads me.
